Becoming a mother is a childhood dream for most girls. For many women conceiving can be a very difficult and heartbreaking process. Here are 4 things I would highly suggest you do if you are planning a pregnancy in the near future. These 4 suggestions can increase your fertility chances no matter what stage of life you’re in or what past experiences you’ve had with attempts at pregnancy. Why? Because they address the most common underlying causes of fertility difficulties.
The most common cause of conceiving difficulties is unbalanced hormones. For so many women, they do not understand their hormones are dysfunctional because it’s the norm for them. This endocrine dysfunction, as I like to call it, goes on until the dysfunction worsens until a diagnosis becomes appropriate. But even if you’ve been given a diagnosis, there is still an imbalance in your hormones that can be reversed, helping you overcome it (PCOS, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, etc.).
If I could shout one thing from the rooftops, it would be “DON’T LET YOUR DIAGNOSIS STOP YOU! IT’S JUST A DIAGNOSIS. YOU’RE BODY WAS HEALTHY ONCE. IT CAN BE HEALTHY AGAIN!”
How do we turn a dysfunctional endocrine system into a highly functional and efficient endocrine system? The answer is #1 (out of 4) on how to increase your chance of becoming a mother.
#1: Balance Your Hormones
Your hormones are impacted by 14 organs! Yes, you heard me right, 14 organs! In order for you to truly balance your endocrine system resulting in healthy hormone levels, all 14 organs need to be addressed. These organs are:
- Hypothalamus
- Pituitary gland
- Thyroid
- Parathyroid
- Adrenal glands
- Liver
- Kidneys
- Pancreas
- Large Intestine
- Small Intestine
- Ovaries
- Uterus
- Gallbladder
- Your skin (yes, it’s an organ and it just so happens to be the largest in the body)
All 14 organs are important but there are a few key players. If you heal these key players, a dramatic positive impact on your endocrine system happens. To learn about these key players, I’ve created a video you can find here: https://vimeo.com/244675824. It’s much more detailed than I can explain in this post. Watch it. I promise it’ll be time well spent.
#2: Food and Fertility
You know the adage – you are what you eat – well, you really are what you eat. Food has a powerful impact on the endocrine system especially for us women. While we could talk about food for ages, lets keep it simple: watch this video https://vimeo.com/244675824 and incorporate more of the following foods in your diet (they help to increase your chances at fertility.
- Fruits and vegetables (organic is best)
- Avoid dairy products (an outside source of estrogen and most people can’t absorb casein, so it causes dysfunction to our gut as well)
- High fiber foods
- Avoid soy (research is still in the air about its effect on hormones, but I’ve found it is best to avoid)
- Omega 3 is important (cold water fish or a high-quality supplement are good sources)
- Water – don’t substitute it for another fluid. Drink half your body weight (pounds) in ounces of water
#3: Optimize the Egg
My heart breaks when a woman’s dream is to become a mother and she is told she’s too old, her eggs are not healthy anymore. Her hope is dashed as she knows she can’t turn back time. Fortunately, there are ways to optimize the eggs a woman has. A healthy egg is vital to successful fertilization.
There are three supplements, when used in combination, that can perform magic on your eggs:
- Royal Jelly
- Bee Propolis
- Powerful Antioxidants

#4: It Takes Two to Tango
Whether your man wants to admit it or not, he plays a role in your chances of becoming a mother. Although their endocrine system is much simpler than us women, their testosterone levels can still suffer. For example, your husband works a stressful job. His physiologic response to that stress is to produce cortisol. Cholesterol gets broken down into all the reproductive hormones (estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone) as well as cortisol. A biochemistry pathway – known as the “pregnenolone steal” – demonstrates how the body literally steals supply of cholesterol to make cortisol instead of testosterone. So instead of getting a testosterone injection or some other form of testosterone from your doctor, click on this link (https://vimeo.com/244886626) to learn how to boost his own production of testosterone by healing his entire endocrine system.
